Keelder Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Keelder is a personal screen-time tool for iOS. This page describes what the app does and does not do with your data.
What the app stores
Everything lives in a local App Group container on your iPhone:
- the apps you selected through Apple's app picker (FamilyActivityPicker)
- the short anchor text you wrote
- your shield settings: your daily line
- a record of the moments you chose to open a shielded app: the time, and the anchor words that were on the shield right then
None of this is uploaded. There is no server, no account, no sync. Backing out of the shield ("Not now") is not recorded at all.
What the app does not collect
- No analytics
- No crash reports sent off device
- No advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs
- No location data
- No contacts, photos, calendar, or other system data
- No information about other people. The app has no concept of "another user"
Family Controls
Keelder uses Apple's Family Controls framework. iOS asks for explicit permission during setup. The permission is used to:
- show Apple's app picker so you can choose which of your own apps to shield
- render the shield on your own device
- run the on-device timers that make one open last about 15 minutes
The app does not use Family Sharing. It has no parent role, no child role, no other-device configuration.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling Keelder removes the App Group container. Nothing remains anywhere else: there are no servers, no cloud copies, no backups under our control.
